Best season to date coming off tough season in cross. Winter training paid off with a 2:08 indoor split in the 4x800 at State indoor. By season's end, I found myself running the 4x400 (split 54.4, qualified for Regionals), the 800 (PR of 2:04 - 10th at Districts), and the 4x800 (split a 2:05, All-Regional - 7th place). Definitely going to spring board me into cross this fall.

I was very disappointed with the results of this season. I did decent indoor with an indoor PR's of 11:09 in the 3200 and 5:05 in the 1600. Outdoor started on a good note with a quick 11:03 to start but didn't go anywhere from there. I fought with lower back and hamstring problems; tightness caused my lower back to throb while running and tore my form apart, from leaning too far forward and having my feet behind me to not using my arms enough and doing a windmill when I did use them. My coached worked with me but for every step of progress, there was either one or two steps backwards. Season bests ended up being 11:03 in the 3200 and 5:03 in the 1600. One good note was running a 2:11 split in the 4x800, tying a PR from a time trial. I was proud again of our distance guys. Kyle Rohrbacher stepped up huge with a 10:37 in the 3200 and a 4:50 in the 1600. Bill Minshall stepped in as a freshman to run 10:52 in the 3200. Chris Johnson, also a freshman, turned out to sub 5 min miles with a 4:57 and 4:58. Looking forward to a great track year!

Good off-season lead to great track season. Indoor SB's were 5:08 in the 1600, and 11:15 in the 3200. I started outdoor quick by winning the 3200 at home against Port Clinton in 10:59 in just my first high school race. Steadily improved in the 3200 and finished with a 10:40 PR at the District meet. 1600 meter PR was 4:53 at the Bellevue Invite; I also ran a 10:48 3200 after, which was a PR at the time. I ran a 10:42 at the SBC meet to finish 5th. After the season, I still remained as the first alternate for the 4x800, which went to state.
