Shawna Marie Boggs was born on August 11, 1998 in Auburn, WA to Raymond and Kimberley Boggs. She has an older sister, Lauren. Shawna is currently in ninth grade at Insight School of WA (K12), graduating in 2016. As a young 5 year old girl, Shawna was always full of energy, continually running, climbing, and jumping. With all this energy, her parents enrolled her in a ballet, tap, and jazz class. Progressing from there she participated in an Acrobatics class and finally onto a kiddie gymnastics class. The teacher of this gymnastics class referred Shawna and her parents to a gymnastics facility because she felt that Shawna was already naturally talented and knew everything that the she would be teaching in all of the gymnastic classes. While at Max Gymnastics, she was coached by Delsa Dislers and Trey Duvall. In 2007, Shawna moved to Metropolitan Gymnastics and was coached by Shirlene Chambers, Cathy Sutherland, Yulia Hancheroff, Guennadi Komisserov. In May 2013, Shawna moved to Harts Gymnastics Center, where she is coached by Delsa Dislers and Dave Hart.
