Chargers draft WR Byrd after car crash (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

A week after he was badly hurt in a car crash, LSU wide receiver Demetrius Byrd was drafted Sunday by the San Diego Chargers. Earlier this week, Byrd was hospitalized in critical but stable condition after a car crash in Miami. Byrd had scrapes and bruises, but was held in intensive care for observation.
