The Washington Redskins have released Jason Taylor, one year after signing the former NFL defensive player of the year. The 34-year-old Taylor would have earned about $8 million this season and missed three games last year due to injuries. He declined the Redskins' request to add a clause to his contract requiring him to participate in 25 of 39 days in the team's offseason workout program.
