Jaguars' Owens signs extension (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

Special teams standout Montell Owens signed a contract extension with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Wednesday. Owens, an undrafted rookie from Maine who made the roster in 2006, was captain of the special teams unit last season. He has a team-high 45 special teams tackles over the last three years. The 5-foot-10, 225-pound Owens also served as a backup fullback.
