Former Detroit Pistons great Dave Bing led with 81 percent of the vote counted Tuesday in his bid to unseat incumbent Ken Cockrel Jr. in a special mayoral election. With 510 of 629 precincts reporting, Bing had 53.7 percent of the vote, or 36,385 votes, to 46.3 percent, or 31,367 votes, for Cockrel.
