Ray Allen hyperextended his right thumb during the first half of Boston's game against the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night and Celtics officials said he would not return. Allen had only one point in the first quarter on a technical free throw before the injury occurred, after which he could be seen flexing his hand.
