Jason Marquis shut down the Pirates with a masterful mix of sinkers and sliders over 8 2-3 innings and the Colorado Rockies beat Pittsburgh 7-3 Friday night for their 14th win in 15 games. Marquis (9-4) allowed three earned runs on eight hits while coming within an out of his sixth complete game in his 10-year major league career.
