Joe Mauer rediscovered his power stroke with a homer and three RBIs, Kevin Slowey became the majors' second nine-game winner and the Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago Cubs 7-4 Friday. Slowey (9-2) allowed three runs on four hits over six innings, striking out 10 and walking one. Joe Nathan pitched a perfect ninth for his 14th save.
