Mets acquire OF Emil Brown from Padres (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

Outfielder Emil Brown has been acquired by the New York Mets from the San Diego Padres for a player to be named. The 34-year-old Brown batted .260 with four homers and 22 RBIs this season in 146 at-bats at Triple-A Portland of the Pacific Coast League. The Mets said Friday he will be assigned to Buffalo on the International League.
