Astros 1B Berkman out with sore wrist (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

First baseman Lance Berkman was a late scratch from the Houston Astros lineup for their game against the San Diego Padres on Friday night because of soreness in his left wrist. Astros manager Cecil Cooper had originally dropped Berkman from his usual No. 3 spot in the lineup to fifth. He was replaced by Darin Erstad.
