Royals put RHP Waechter on 15-day DL (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

The Kansas City Royals have placed right-handed pitcher Doug Waechter on the 15-day disabled list and recalled right-hander Brian Bannister from Triple-A Omaha. The team said Tuesday that Waechter's placement on the DL is retroactive to April 18. The Royals said he has a lateral strain in his right elbow.
