Cards' Carpenter has torn oblique, out 1-2 months (sportsline.com)

The St. Louis Cardinals have called up right-hander P.J. Walters to help fill a hole left in the rotation by Chris Carpenter, who was placed on the DL and is out for up to two months with a torn oblique muscle.
