Free agent players face their own economic slump (usatoday.com)

With the global economic crisis affecting almost everybody, there will be little sympathy for baseball players who can earn a life's savings in one year. Still, the bottoming free-agent market was humbling for dozens of players who discovered they were worth far less than originally perceived. Some are still waiting for a job. USA TODAY's Jorge L.
