Welcome home: Ken Griffey Jr., 39, returns to Mariners (usatoday.com)

Ken Griffey Jr. is returning to the Seattle Mariners. The outfielder's agent, Brian Goldberg, confirmed Wednesday night that, after an emotional, topsy-turvy week that kept two teams, their fans and even Griffey's family in suspense, Griffey has agreed to a one-year contract with the team for which he played the first 11 years of his career.
