RHP Ramon Ortiz signs with Giants (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

Ramon Ortiz agreed to a minor league contract Tuesday with the San Francisco Giants, getting an invitation to spring training after spending last season in Japan. Ortiz is 84-80 with 210 starts in nine big league seasons, most recently with Minnesota and Colorado in 2007. He spent his first six seasons with the Angels, winning 16 games in 2003.
