Rays' Pena has minor surgery, will sit out WBC (espn.com)

Carlos Pena, the Rays' team leader in home runs and RBIs last season, underwent minor abdominal surgery earlier this month and will be held out of the World Baseball Classic as a precaution, the team said Thursday.
