Rangers' Benoit to miss half of season (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

Texas Rangers relief pitcher Joaquin Benoit will miss at least half the season after surgery to repair a torn right rotator cuff. The surgery on Benoit's throwing shoulder was performed Tuesday in Cincinnati by Dr. Timothy Kremchek, the medical director of the Cincinnati Reds. Benoit has been a key member of the Rangers' bullpen since 2002.
