The Yankees are the winners of the winter at a cost of $423.5 million for Mark Teixeira and pitchers CC Sabathia and A.J. Burnett. All three are upgrades at their positions for a team that missed the playoffs by six games last season and finished eight games behind the American League East-winning Tampa Bay Rays.
