OF Gross, Rays agree on 1-year deal (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

Gabe Gross and the Tampa Bay Rays agreed to a $1,255,000, one-year contract Wednesday, avoiding salary arbitration. The 29-year-old outfielder batted .242 with a career-best 13 homers and 38 RBIs in 127 games for the AL champions after being acquired from Milwaukee last season in an April 22 trade that sent right-hander Josh Butler to the Brewers.
