UConn's Moore wins Big East player of year award (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)
Connecticut's Maya Moore is the Big East's player of the year for the second consecutive season. The sophomore, who averaged 18.9 points and 9.1 rebounds for the top-ranked Huskies (30-0), is the first back-to-back winner since 2004, when Diana Taurasi won her second award. Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma and Villanova's Harry Perretta shared the coach of the year honors Friday.
