SoCon plans money-saving cuts to tournaments (sportsline.com)

The Southern Conference is feeling the effects of the economic downturn. The league plans to reduce the number of schools participating in several SoCon tournaments, cut baseball series from three days to two and not stage preseason gatherings in football and men's basketball next season.
