NCAA won't factor in travel costs (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

Travel costs will not play a larger role in this year's NCAA tournament pairings this year than it has in other years. Selection committee chairman Mike Slive said during a conference call Tuesday that while the committee is sensitive to the economic climate, it has a responsibility to the nation to provide balanced brackets for the NCAA's marquee event, which begins in mid-March.
