Rashanda McCants scored 12 of her 17 points in the second half and No. 2 North Carolina improved to 15-0 with an 83-74 victory over Clemson on Thursday night. It was a shaky way to start the Atlantic Coast Conference season for the defending champion Tar Heels, who watched Clemson (10-5, 1-1) overcome a 12-point deficit to take a 65-54 lead with 5:03 remaining.
