Sha Brooks scored 31 points to lead No. 18 Florida to an 80-66 win over Mississippi State in the Southeastern Conference opener for both teams on Thursday night. Brooks, Florida's leading scored with 13.4 points per game coming into the contest, also had six rebounds and six assists for the Gators (15-1, 1-0).
