Ohio State beats Northwestern 68-59 (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

Jantel Lavender had 15 points and nine rebounds to lead Ohio State to a 68-59 win over Northwestern on Wednesday. Samantha Prahalis had 11 points and three rebounds for the Buckeyes (11-2, 2-0). Amy Jaeschke led Northwestern (4-10, 0-3) with 24 points and five rebounds. Kristin Cartwright came off the bench to score 11 and Meshia Reed added 10 more.
