Patrick Strake is a talented and versatile right-handed SF who has a soft touch and is an effective scorer inside the paint or on the perimeter. Extremely soft touch on his mid-range jump shot, knock down ability to shoot the three coupled with his size (6’5”/220 lbs./Class of 2013) and athleticism makes him a very special player. He also is a versatile defender with killer peripheral vision, productive rebounder, runs the floor well and can flourish in the transition game. Has the uncanny ability to be tough in the paint or turn and face up and hit big shots.

Huge upside is his desire to improve and he is a dedicated student of the game.

Strake is a member of former Michigan ‘Fab Fiver’, Ray Jackson’s AAU team, The Rising Stars in Austin, Texas. He also is a three year starter (as a Jr.) on the varsity at S.F. Austin High School in Austin, Texas. As one of the strongest 5A High School district’s in the state of Texas, Strake was a part of a team his soph. year that pushed further into the playoffs than any team at Austin High in over 50 years. The Maroons capped the strongest season in the schools 100+ year history with a 29-4 season. He was named 2nd Team All District as well as Academic All District, maintaining a 3.6 GPA.

** As a Junior, he was named 1st team all-district and offensive player of the year.

Whoever said “Basketball doesn’t build character, it reveals it” tapped into Strake’s intangible on the court. He is all about TEAM and his loyalty is a lost art in today’s ‘It’s all about me’ culture.
